Shade Hotel Redondo Beach Wedding | Romantic Coastal Fall Celebration
There’s something especially beautiful about a fall wedding by the coast. This November celebration at Shade Hotel Redondo Beach blended ocean air, intentional design, and deeply personal details into a day that felt both elegant and meaningful.
The day began inside the Shade Hotel’s modern, light-filled spaces – R in the blue room with her bridesmaids and M in a suite with the guys. Personal, thoughtful details were worked into every part of the day – from the customized ring bearer’s pillow, R’s ultra unique wedding ring, and the die used at the ceremony to determine who would say their vows first.
On the balcony of R’s dressing suite, the couple shared a super sweet and emotional first look moment.
We took photos with the couple and the bridal party around the hotel property and, of course, had to get a few shots with a great view of the boats on the marina.
From the moment guests arrived to the ceremony site, it was clear that this wedding was thoughtfully curated to reflect the couple’s story – one rooted in a shared love of books, board games, travel, and timeless romance.
A friend of the bride created a stunning “book wall” made of actual books that served as a unique backdrop for guests to take photobooth style pictures.
The Ceremony space was filled with thoughtfully chosen signage featuring some of the couple’s favorite quotes about love.
Guests were treated to a super fun, interactive “passport” where they could participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the wedding celebration.
Cocktail hour unfolded across the Shade Hotel ballroom’s outdoor patio, where guests enjoyed hand-selected signature cocktails, passed appetizers, and a collection of the couple’s favorite board games thoughtfully placed throughout the space.
As guests entered the reception, they were welcomed by a travel-inspired place card display. Each table was named after a destination the newlyweds had explored together, complete with a story from their travels and books written by authors from each locale. At every place setting, guests found a custom luggage tag to take home as a thoughtful keepsake.
The newlyweds kicked off the reception with an epic first dance, followed by heartfelt toasts and an especially sweet, choreographed dance between the bride and her son. As the night unfolded, Vox DJs kept the energy high with the couple’s favorite songs, drawing guests onto the dance floor. Later, late-night snacks made an appearance—complete with a French fry bar and sweet treats from Chunk-N-Chip’s ice cream sandwich bar.
As the night came to a close, the couple invited their guests outside for a sparkler send-off, followed by a late-night karaoke party for anyone ready to keep the celebration going.
From the personalized details to the heartfelt moments shared throughout the day, this November wedding at Shade Hotel Redondo Beach was a beautiful reflection of what matters most – connection, intention, and celebrating love in a way that feels true.
