We started Alice and Joseph's Los Angeles engagement pictures out on the beach in Santa Monica, not too far from where he proposed. These two were naturals! I gave them some easy prompts so they could get comfortable in front of the camera and within minutes Joseph had his beautiful fiance laughing her head off! So cute!

During 2021 I've been rediscovering my love for silhouettes and black and white images. Alice loved a silhouette she saw me take at a previous session so I promised I'd create some similar shots for her and Joseph. This shot below was one of my favorites!

We planned for two locations for this session and the drive times in LA are always a little crazy, so we had to make some judgement calls on where and how we wanted to capture the sunset. The couple decided to change into their formal look and get those photos at the beach before we headed downtown!

I'm in LOVE with the gorgeous green and black hombre gown that Alice chose for her formal outfit. The sparkles add a classy modern day Disney princess flair! Perfection!

I love when we find opportunities to personalize a shoot! As part of our plan to caputre some silhouettes, the couple requested a recreation of one of their favorite pictures from when they were dating.

After we finished up at the beach, we headed downtown for a few night time shots in the city! We spent a little time exploring, looking for interesting light, and capturing that urban city feel.

My favorite shot of the night! I loved the way the colorful lights in the fountain created leading lines to draw your eye right to the couple!
