Coffee, Books, & Sunset – A Redondo Beach Engagement Session
When it comes to engagement sessions, I always encourage my couples to really make it their own. Rather than generic or overly posed portraits, your engagement session should reflect your love story. It should feel like a glimpse into your relationship, and all the little details that make you, you.
As you’re planning your wedding, your engagement seems to fly by. Between the venue tours, catering tastings, and seating charts – it all goes by so fast. Your engagement session is a chance to slow down and remember why you’re here in the first place.
When R & M reached out to me to photograph their wedding and engagement, they knew exactly what that would look like for them. A cozy coffee shop tucked away in Redondo Beach with a mini library and plenty of board games, just a short walk away from the sand and shore. Simple, personal, and completely them.

This isn’t just any coffee shop. It was their coffee shop. In the early days of their relationship, this was the place where they fell in love – curled up with books, laughing over board games, and lingering walks to the beach.

After spending time in the warmth of their favorite cafe, we made the short walk down to RAT Beach, just before sunset. The light was everything! A warm, soft, golden glow helped to add a cinematic feel to the romantic moments we captured on the beach.

If you’re newly engaged and staring to think about photos, I would love to help you create something truly personal to you. Whether it’s your favorite hiking trail, a place that holds special memories, or yes – even a day in with your favorite books and board games – let’s build your session around the things that make your relationship truly unique.
