I could hear the sound of laughter when I first walked into Briana’s bridal suite on the morning of her Friendly Hills Country Club wedding. The bridesmaids were finishing up their plan for which door games (bargaining to get in to see the bride) they would make the guys play to enter the tea ceremony that afternoon. From the corner of the room, Briana’s mother beamed contemplatively as she observed her daughter’s hair and makeup transformation. Briana couldn’t stop smiling as she anticipated the moments to come…
Once the guys were ready, they made their way over to Briana’s bridal suite and were greeted by the bridesmaids who took turns explaining the door games. I’d never witnessed this part of a tea ceremony before, but it was incredibly fun to document! The last test was for them to make a human pyramid, with Peter on top!
Once the games were over, the bridesmaids were satisfied that Peter had indeed earned his right to see his bride. He said a few thoughtful words to each one. Then the couple presented tea to their parents and other relatives, a custom of respect in their culture.
After they finished serving tea, Briana changed out of her qipao and into her white wedding dress. It was almost time for the first look and wedding ceremony!
Before the couple headed down the aisle at their Friendly Hills Country Club wedding, they opted for a first look so that they could share this moment privately before Briana walked down the aisle!
The wedding ceremony was held overlooking the golf course at Friendly Hills Country Club in Whittier, CA. Purple flowers graced the aisle and guests signed a canvas of Briana & Peter’s favorite engagement photo.
When it was time, everyone took their seats and the processional began. The officiant did a wonderful job telling Briana & Peter’s love story and giving them sound advice for a lasting marriage. Briana and Peter exchanged their vows with joyful tears and huge smiles. At last, they were one!
During the reception, the couple was treated to an incredible performance – a lion dance, in celebration of their union. It was truly spectacular to watch in person!
