I first met Kimberly Persons, a wedding planning consultant based in Orange County, earlier this year at a networking event and we hit it off instantly. We quickly found that we had similar tastes in wedding trends and we were both looking for someone new to collaborate with. It was a match made in heaven!

We knew we wanted to bring something unique into the collaboration. Something that would appeal to a classic bride but with a twist! The first piece of our inspiration came when Kimberly spotted the dress we decided to use for our model. We loved that it was classy and elegant, yet short and non-traditional. A great twist on the classic bride! We checked with Adina’s Bridal and were thrilled to find out she had one available!

For the location, we pictured something classic, elegant and timeless with great architecture. That’s where Marbella Country Club came in. As soon as I saw photos of this property, I knew it was the place we were looking for- It had all the key features!

When it came to a color scheme, we knew that pink wasn’t going to be the right fit. It’s classic and beautiful, but it’s so common that we wanted to steer clear. Deep moody purples and blacks caught our eye and we fell in love with the idea of deep purple ranunculus being a part of our florals. Adrienne from The Bloom of Time has an incredible eye for gorgeous florals with a wild spin, so we asked her if she could create something like this for us. She was happy to oblige!

To go along with our purple and black color scheme, we decided on a black cake. We loved this idea because it was non-traditional but elegant. I reached out to Great Dane Bakery (my FAVORITE place for sweets!) and asked if they’d like to create something for the shoot. I was totally blown away by the masterpiece they created when I went to pick it up!

Cora from Free Spirit Rentals carries a lot of super cute boho style decor and furniture. While this isn’t what we had in mind for this particular shoot, she did have some pieces that suited our style and even surprised us with some extra cute pieces, like that giant champagne cork! I love the way she was able to mix both solid colors and some fun patterns to perfectly accent our scene!

Last, but by no means least, we talked to the incredible Linsday from Label Me Lindsay in Los Alamitos. I’d worked with her a while back on another styled shoot and was so impressed with her team’s beauty skills that I knew they’d be amazing for our shoot. They met with our model ahead of time to color match some extensions for her hair as well as make sure her skin was looking great for the shoot. On the day of, they gave Jennifer a flawless and classic bridal look that we absolutely adored!

Then, we were ready for the big reveal! We decided to include a first look for our models since they are a real couple! The reaction you see here in the photos is 100% genuine. He was amazed!
