HISTORY OF THE CHARLESTON

The Historic Williams Building located in Downtown Fullerton was recently renovated as a lovely event and wedding space now known as The Charleston. This beautiful building was originally built in 1927 and was originally home to the Fullerton Odd Fellows Lodge (a men’s club in the 1920s) as well as a dance studio in later years. This stunning location was also named “one of the most outstanding of Fullerton’s brick buildings” and designated as a local historic landmark in 1980.

The Charleston’s rich history, great location, and Art Deco style make it both a unique find and a wonderful wedding venue option in Orange County.

CHAMPAGNE PARLOR BRIDAL SUITE

The Champagne Parlor, located on the second floor, is the perfect place to get ready with your bridal party before your wedding ceremony. The room features 500 square feet of space, a full-length mirror, a vanity, satin white tin ceilings, and a built-in Champagne bar. The space also features plenty of window light which is great for photography and offers you a great view of the city outside!

WEDDING CEREMONIES AT THE CHARLESTON “PETITE BALLROOM”

Located on the third floor, the Petite Ballroom boasts 2100 square feet of space for you to host your ceremony (200 guests), cocktail hour, or even a seated dinner (100 guests).

The room features large windows that let in the natural light, gorgeous hardwood flooring, and a built-in stage that works great for your wedding arch, a DJ or performers. If you’re hosting your event in the evening, the 100-year-old original chandeliers will add a lovely historic touch to illuminate your celebration.

COCKTAIL HOUR – FOXTROT LOUNGE & JITTERBUG BAR

The Charleston has two great spaces available for cocktail hour.

The Foxtrot Lounge is located on the second floor next to the Grand Ballroom and features 1100 square feet of space. The mood lighting brushed bronze tin ceilings, fireplace, and cozy leather armchairs will have your guests feeling like they’ve stepped into a private speakeasy!

Steps outside of the Grand Ballroom, You’ll find Charleston’s friendly bartenders mixing up cocktails in the 900-square-foot space known as the Jitterbug Bar. This space is great for greeting guests as they arrive at your event or wait for the reception doors to open. The space includes cocktail-style seating and plenty of room at the spacious porcelain top bar.

WEDDING RECEPTIONS AT THE CHARLESTON “GRAND BALLROOM”

The Grand Ballroom, located on the second floor, offers a whopping 3,000 square feet of event space that is absolutely perfect for a wedding reception (200 guests).

The space features 22-foot ceilings, five gorgeous chandeliers, arched windows for natural light, beautiful hardwood flooring, and an elevated perimeter with cocktail-style seating. Built-in LED lighting can be set to match your event colors. The space also has a large stage area that works well for your sweetheart’s table, DJ, or wedding band.

Something that’s great about the event spaces at the Charleston is that every space is beautiful enough to be used as is, but can also be customized with draping and decor for a more unique look.

COSTS & CONSIDERATIONS

Costs for this venue vary depending on what rooms you’d like to use and based on the day of the week.

The Champagne parlor is $250/hr with a minimum spend of $2000

The Foxtrot lounge is $400/hr with a minimum spend ranging from $3000-5000

The Grand Ballroom is $900/hr with a minimum spend ranging from $6000-$7000

The Petite Ballroom is $500/hr with a minimum spend ranging from $4000-6000

Catering and Bar services are hosted in-house and costs vary depending on your menu selections.
