About Hummingbird Nest Ranch
Once a privately owned horse ranch, this sprawling 126-acre property in Simi Valley features picturesque views, a gorgeous Spanish Architecture Villa, canyon views, and beautiful fountains.
Because of its elegant property and breathtaking landscape views, this location is popular for luxury events and as a filming location for movies and television. You may have caught a glimpse of the property while watching NCIS, Loot, The Mentalist, Entourage, and other popular shows.
Due to its size and six options for ceremony and event spaces, this venue can fit a large range of wedding guests depending upon the style of your event!
Ceremony and Reception Sites
As mentioned, there are six different sites at Hummingbird Nest Ranch that you can choose from to host your wedding. I've broken them down below:
The Villa
One of the most iconic sites at Hummingbird Nest, the 17,000 square-foot Spanish Colonial-style Villa features Spacious courtyards draped with bougainvillea. fountains, tiled staircases, beautiful archways, and columns. This elegant space can accommodate up to 300 guests.
Grand Prix
The Grand Prix is Hummingbird Nest's largest event space. It can fit up to 1,000 guests and features picturesque mountain views.
Sitting Bull
Sitting Bull is the restored original ranch house that dates back to the 1920's. It features a dreamy private garden and a Tuscan-style cobblestone courtyard. This site can fit up to 300 guests.
Lake Lawn
A large open lawn next to a beautiful lake with a view of the rock formations and barn. The Lake Lawn can fit up to 700 guests.
Main Barn
Host up to 800 guests in this Modern country chic meets Spanish-style barn. The space features high ceilings and a beautiful wrought iron chandelier.
Q Vineyard
Q Vineyard is a little different from the other event sites at Hummingbird Nest. Events at Q Vineyard are an exclusive partnership between Command Catering and Hummingbird nest.
The space includes a beautiful modern barn and breathtaking views of the mountains and the private vineyard.
Rental for this event site includes 24 hours, a bridal suite, and onsite restrooms.
Because of it's location events at Q Vineyard have a 12 am outdoor music curfew.
Catering & Bar
Catering services must be selected from the venue's preferred vendor list. They have several caterers to choose from and offer options that meet Kosher and other dietary needs. At the time of this writing, it appears their catering options include Anoush Catering, Four Seasons Hotel Catering, and Wolfgang Puck.
Bar & alcohol services for events are provided by Brick & Brass Bar.
Accommodations & Overnight Lodging
If your bridal party or family needs a place to stay overnight, there are some great options on the property for them to consider. Hummingbird Nest Ranch has 4 Casitas and Townhomes available that are fully furnished, include kitchens, laundry, and fully stocked bathrooms.
The Casitas are single-story properties with 3 or 4 bedrooms. The Master bedrooms include a king-size bed and the remaining rooms have queen-size beds.
The Townhomes are two stories with three bedrooms and queen beds. These also include a pull-out couch to accommodate more guests.
Costs and Considerations
Depending on the size of your event and the event space you chose, costs can vary quite a bit for this venue. Minimum costs can run around $40,000 (Q Vineyard) to $70,000 depending on what you chose. Rentals start around $9,000 plus required catering costs (estimate around $200 per person), included are security, valet, and bar.
