One of my favorite parts of being a wedding and portrait photographer is when I get to work with the same families again after the big day! Years ago I had the privilege of working with Kimi & Andrew for their engagement photos and wedding photography. Later, I worked with Kimi's sister, Elena, and her husband on a couples shoot in Orange County, CA. I was so honored when Elena called me over the summer to set up a surprise family portrait session for their parent's 30th anniversary!
The kids took their mom and dad out to a winery for an afternoon and while they were taking a break and enjoying a glass of wine and lunch, they presented their surprise gift! Their mother, Lesbia, who LOVES photographs was thrilled and we set up a Facetime consultation soon after to start planning her ideal family portrait session.
Since 30 years is such a huge celebration, we decided on a two-part portrait session at the GORGEOUS Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park in Coto De Caza, CA. The first half was a cute and casual-style family portrait session with all the kids and their spouses. It was so fun to see everyone again and document their interactions and love together!
For the second half of the session, the kids headed over to their pre-planned dinner spot while Lesbia and Antonio changed into more formal attire and we took some romantic couple's photos to celebrate their 30 years of marriage!
Here are a few of my favorite images from the session:
