For a few years, I was focused on strictly on weddings and engagement sessions, but recently I've started booking more Orange County and Los Angeles maternity photography and family photography sessions. The experience has been so fun and rewarding!
It's always so exciting when past clients come back and ask me to photograph a new chapter in their lives. I worked with Alice and Joseph a while back to take their engagement photos in Los Angeles. Since then, they've gotten married and are now starting a family! It was such an honor to document this exciting time for them!

The excited parents-to-be knew they wanted a pretty nature location where they could bring their dogs along. I looked through my location options and sent them a few to pick from. They fell in love with this little redwood grove!

As a pet parent myself, I know how special that relationship with your furbabies can be and I was so thrilled that we got to include them in the session!
Some tips for bringing your pet along: First, absolutely make sure you discuss it with your photographer! Some locations do not allow animals and your session time can be affected by the extra time and patience it takes to work with an excited pet. Second, bring treats and water for them. Last, make sure you work at a pace that is safe and comfortable for your animal.

What a glowing mama-to-be!

In between shots, my husband (and trusty assistant) helped to babysit the pups. Thankfully, it seems like they liked him! We had to get a shot of them together!

On the day of the session, we had some beautiful clouds in the sky! If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably heard me share that I LOVE photographing on days with great clouds because of the amazing skies we get in the photos. I took some time to create a creative reflection shot of the clouds, you can see the result below!

See what I mean about the amazing sky? 😍
