Recently Martha had seen an Orange County family portraits and anniversary portrait combo session that I'd done for one of my long-time clients. Knowing she had a big anniversary of her own coming up, she wanted to have a similar portrait session with her own family, so she reached out via my website.
I was thrilled to hear from her because these sessions combo sessions are so much fun! For the first half of the session, we took some formal family portraits with Martha and Frank's sons and daughter-in-law. I love that the family chose to go for a more dressy look with their outfits. They also decided on a jewel tone color palette, rather than matching outfits, and I love this for big group sessions because the colors compliment each other, without causing everyone to visually blend together too much in the final images.
When photographing families I love getting both posed and candid shots to really capture the family dynamic and give my clients variety when it comes time to pick photos for their wall portraits and albums. I make a point to photograph the whole group as well as smaller break-off groups and individual portraits.
For the second half of the session, we sent the kids off to dinner and it was all about the happy couple from then on out! Martha and Frank changed into even more formal attire to take their look to a whole new level. I LOVE the gorgeous red dress that Martha chose, it looked incredible on her and was the perfect gown for celebrating such a milestone anniversary. Happy 30 years Martha & Frank!
