Recently we met up with Tim and Charlene to take some anniversary photos in Seal Beach, CA. This year, they’re celebrating 20 years of marriage and it was so much fun to document their still adorable chemistry after all these years! As a wedding photographer I see a lot of couples at the beginning stages of their journey together; engagement photos, the wedding day. Whenever photograph anniversaries though, it fascinates me to see a love that’s matured and grown deeper over time.
We started our session during the late afternoon so we could catch that golden glow of the sun as it began to drift down the horizon. We explored the beach and Seal Beach pier, got a few congratulatory comments from passersby and captured the incredible sunset!
Once the sun faded, we took a quick break for an outfit change and then the fun really began. We spent the second half of the session exploring Main St, Seal Beach and creating some dramatic nighttime portraits. I loved the opportunity to experiment with some of my creative photography tricks! That night we created some of my favorite photos this year! Then, when it was just about time to go, we wandered down to the pier for one last shot. 
Originally, I intended for the photo to be in color, but once I got into the editing process I decided on a black and white look instead. The edit gives it a mysterious and vintage noir feel that I personally adore!
