Weddings at Palos Verdes Golf Club
There are wedding venues, and then there are places that feel like they were made for the most important day of your life. Palos Verdes Golf Club is the latter. Nestled on the stunning Palos Verdes Peninsula, just a short drive from Los Angeles, this historic estate sits on 800 acres of breathtaking land, where sweeping ocean views, lush gardens, and a century of stories come together to create something truly unforgettable. If you’re searching for a Southern California wedding venue that balances natural beauty with timeless elegance, this is a place worth knowing.
A Venue Rooted in History
Palos Verdes Golf Club isn’t just beautiful; it carries a legacy. Founded in 1924 by Frank Vanderlip, widely known as the “Father of Palos Verdes,” the estate has been officially designated a historical building by the Palos Verdes Historical Society. That kind of history doesn’t just have character; it also adds meaning. When you exchange your vows here, you’re standing in a place that has witnessed over a century of California life and love.
And while the heritage runs deep, the space has been thoughtfully refreshed for modern celebrations. A full renovation was completed in 2019 to ensure that every detail of your day feels polished and intentional. It’s the rare combination of old soul and new energy.
Getting Ready in Style
The morning of your wedding day sets the tone for everything that follows, and at Palos Verdes Golf Club, it starts beautifully. Two separate areas are available so that both sides of the wedding party have their own private space to get dressed, breathe, and prepare for the day ahead.
The Altamira Tower suite is a dream for brides. Featuring a large vanity and charming Juliet-style balcony, it’s the kind of space where the light is just right and the morning feels unhurried.
The Margate Room offers the groom and groomsmen their own comfortable retreat: a relaxed, private space to get ready and enjoy a quick toast to the groom before the ceremony.
Say “I Do” in the Catalina Terrace Garden
For the ceremony itself, the estate’s Events Garden, known as the Catalina Terrace, is nothing short of magical. A rose garden, a lush green lawn, and a dark wooden pergola set the stage, while views of the golf course and a distant glimpse of the ocean provide a breathtaking backdrop.
The space comfortably seats up to 120 guests, or up to 300 if guests are standing, making it a genuinely flexible option for both intimate and large celebrations. Ceremony packages include use of the Catalina Terrace, white garden ceremony chairs, two getting-ready suites, and wedding coordination for both the rehearsal and ceremony itself.
The Palos Verdes Ballroom
With a capacity for up to 300 seated guests, this stunning space features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a panoramic view of the golf course below. Exposed wooden beams overhead, wrought iron chandeliers casting a warm glow, and custom bronze chivari chairs create an atmosphere that’s both romantic and refined.
Just steps outside the ballroom lies a lobby area that creates a great space for the cocktail hour; creating a seamless flow for your guests from the ceremony to cocktails to the reception.
Wedding Photography at Palos Verdes Golf Club
For couples who care deeply about their wedding photos (and let’s be honest, most of us do), Palos Verdes Golf Club is a great option for a variety of beautiful photo locations. The Spanish Colonial style architecture provides stunning archways and textured backdrops at every turn. Lush garden areas and manicured greens offer natural, organic settings that feel genuinely beautiful, rather than staged.
One of the most special touches: a dedicated lakeside photo opportunity, where venue staff can take you and your photographer via golf cart to a secluded spot on the property for some portraits. This spot offers a variety of beautiful backdrops in every direction, including a great view of the venue, the golf course, and the surrounding greenery.

A Venue Couples Trust
Highly regarded by couples who have celebrated here, the venue consistently earns strong reviews for its staff, beauty, and the way the day just flows. If you’re planning a wedding in the South Bay or greater Los Angeles area and want a venue with soul, history, and views that will stay with you long after the last dance, Palos Verdes Golf Club deserves a serious look.
