Walima Celebration at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, CA
Eagle Glen Golf Club is the kind of venue that does a lot of the work for you. We arrived about an hour before the sunset to photograph our couple and the open views over the fairways and surrounding hills made for a beautiful backdrop in the late afternoon light. As the evening set in and the celebration moved indoors, the ballroom held its own – floor-to-ceiling windows, warm lighting, and a space that felt elegant well into the night.
For a Walima – the celebratory feast that follows a Muslim Nikah ceremony – it set a beautifully fitting tone.
The decor was soft and refined – a palette of crisp white and warm peach that felt effortlessly romantic without being overdone. Peach colored napkins and soft yellow florals were woven through the table arrangements, providing a pop of color to the room.
As guests settled in, a zaffa brought in the couple for their truly grand entrance.
If you’ve never witnessed a zaffa, there is nothing quite like it. It’s a festive musical procession that escorts the couple into the wedding hall, but to describe it that simply doesn’t do it justice. The steady beat of drums creates an atmosphere of pure celebration, while dancers in elaborate garb move throughout the space in a display that is equal parts performance and pageantry.
