When Steve proposed to Wendy, he took her to a romantic dinner and a walk along the Berkeley Marina, where there’s a great view of San Francisco. It was there that he asked Wendy to be his wife. They chose to keep the moment private, and not tell anyone for almost 3 days! They did this because they wanted to enjoy the depth of this event privately before all the excitement began.

So when it came to their Casa De Lago wedding- it was all about sharing an intimate and emotional day with the people they love the most! It was so important to Steve & Wendy to incorporate the culture and languages of their families so that everyone could enjoy the day. Both their ceremony and the speeches were bilingual so that all the guests could enjoy the festivities. In addition, Steve & Wendy hired both a DJ and a Mariachi Band so that both cultures were celebrated throughout the party!

For the color scheme, Wendy chose classic blush, white and some lavender hues to give the day a soft and romantic feel. The guys wore grey, which is a much softer look than black and it blended nicely with the rest of the wedding color palette. The florals consisted of white hydrangeas and pink and lavender roses to match the decor.

Since guests were coming from all over to witness their union, Steve and Wendy chose to have a destination wedding in Orange County, CA. As guests entered the reception they were greeted by candy favors that Wendy and Steve hand-assembled, a plethora of photos, and a sign-in area with a California art piece that now hangs on the couple’s wall with all of the guests' signatures from the day. Since guests had traveled from all over for this wedding, this sign-in art piece is particularly special to Steve & Wendy.

During the reception, members of Wendy's family surprised Steve with a hat and boots to let him know he was now officially part of the family; a true caballero!

Once the party got going, Steve and his groomsmen snuck away to celebrate with their cigars. We used the opportunity to create some fun smoky photos of the groomsmen and the couple!
